Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is confident adding to his squad before the transfer deadline falls.
Redknapp wrote in his column for The Sun: "Our opening league fixtures are at United and home to Manchester City. When you look at the City squad, it's scary.
"People have said Sergio Aguero looks useful. At 250 grand a week, I should bloody well think so.
"We can't compete with those kind of wages but there's no point complaining about it.
"We'll get one or two new players in before the transfer window closes.
"The chairman is very close to a couple of deals and he knows we have to keep improving just to keep in touch with the other clubs around us."
