Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has revealed how Celtic legend Kenny Dalglish could easily have been lost to West Ham United. "Kenny was a fabulous prospect when he came to West Ham," Redknapp told the Scottish Sun.
"The manager had heard a lot about him and wanted to have a look at Kenny. Greenwood pitched him in against the first-team lads, including Bobby (Moore), Martin (Peters) and Geoff (Hurst). Kenny wasn't fazed in the slightest by it.
"But I don't think Ron was confident of getting him because everyone wanted to sign Kenny.
"He ended up at Celtic and I wasn't surprised by his success. He was just a special, special payer.
"I'd pick him up at his digs and take him into training. He was a great lad then, although it was hard to understand his strong Glasgow accent!"
