Tottenham boss Redknapp: Any further moves for Modric would be pointless

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has revealed that any further bids for Luka Modric would be a waste of time. The 25-year old Croatian midfielder has been strongly linked with a move to Chelsea in recent weeks but Spurs, led by Redknapp and chairman Daniel Levy, have remained defiant the whole time.

The North London club rejected a £22million bid from the Blues last month who reportedly returned with a £5million improvement yesterday.

But Redknapp says that anything further would be 'pointless' as he and Levy plan to keep the former Dinamo Zagreb star at White Hart Lane.

"I still think £27million is a pretty poor offer in my opinion for a player of that ability," Redknapp told Sky Sports News.

"It wouldn't be anywhere near what I value him at if he was for sale, but he is not for sale.

"There is nowhere to go with it really. That's the end of it. The chairman has made his stance. He is not for sale and that's it."

As for the club accepting a bid of more than £30million, Redknapp added: "I don't think so. I honestly value him way in excess of that."
