Tottenham boss Redknapp: Adebayor not yet over gun attack

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp feels incoming Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor is still to completely recover from his terrorist attack suffered a year ago.

Tottenham are close to a loan deal for the Togo striker, who had 30 minutes of terror when gunmen attacked his national team bus during the African Nations Cup in Angola last year.

Redknapp, who has visited military rehab centres to meet injured British troops, said: "When the boys come back from Afghanistan they have counselling.

"Sometimes maybe you need it. It was a pretty traumatic experience. You don't know how it affects people. I don't know whether he has had any. But it must have been scary with someone shooting at you."
