Tottenham boss Juande Ramos was thrilled with his matchwinner Jonathan Woodgate after yesterday's Carling Cup victory over Chelsea at Wembley.
"Woody and Ledley have great experience and were playing against a great team which had the likes of Drogba and Anelka, so they had to concentrate to the maximum.
"We managed our time on the pitch very well and in the end deserved to win this trophy.
"We have been working very carefully with Ledley, when he was not in the team. This was the sort of game which was very important for him to play in.
"He has made a tremendous effort to play in this final and having lost the last time he played in a final, this was a new opportunity for him, which he deserved thoroughly."
Woodgate said: "I don't really go up for corners but I took a chance and was able to get my head on it and luckily it went in.
"I think we were the best team and hopefully we can push on from this next year. Chelsea are a top side and they showed that today but we did it."
