Tottenham boss Pochettino: We deserved more but full credit to Leicester

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino cut a forlorn figure following the 1-0 defeat to Leicester City at White Hart Lane on Wednesday night.

The Argentine insisted that his Spurs side dominated the game and deserved a better outcome than a narrow one-goal loss to the Foxes which came courtesy of Robert Huth's late header from a corner.

"I am very disappointed," he said. "It was an unfair result, but it is football and we need to accept it and try to improve for the next game.

"We gave our all. It was a great effort from the players but when you dominate and you do not score, and give the chance to the opponent, you lose the game.

"It is difficult to accept and difficult to explain to our supporters. We played very well in the first 15 minutes and created lots of chances - all the stats are positive. But we missed something and gave them the chance to score."

However, he was more than willing to give credit to the Foxes for the grit and determination they showed in the game.

"We need to be positive and try to improve," he said. "We are young and we need to work more and improve more.

"We have opponents later that are strong, play deeper, and play long-ball. They play in a different way.

"But we need to give Leicester full credit because the way they fight and believe is unbelievable."
