Tottenham boss Pochettino upbeat over Vertonghen injury

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has delivered an upbeat injury report on Jan Vertonghen.

The 29-year-old injured his ankle as he slipped off the White Hart Lane pitch during last week's win over West Brom.

Vertonghen is facing a minimum of six weeks on the sidelines with the injury, which is similar to the one that ended his Euro 2016 campaign prematurely, but Pochettino is upbeat about the diagnosis.

"We don't want to set the time limit. When your mind is positive it's easier to recover," Pochettino said.

j "Jan Vertonghen is OK - he's very positive. We're pushing him a lot. We expect six weeks, less than at first."
