Tottenham boss Pochettino proud to be linked with Argentina

Mauricio Pochettino admits he was humbled to hear his name linked with the Argentina national team job.

Recent reports suggested that Argentine Football Association president Armando Perez was set to hold talks with the 44-year-old Tottenham Hotspur manager regarding the vacancy at the helm of La Albiceleste.

Gerardo Martino stepped down from the job in the wake of Argentina's loss to Chile in the 2016 Copa America Centenario final and despite being honoured by the speculation, Pochettino will not be the man to replace the former Barcelona boss.

"I feel proud because my name is linked with the national team of Argentina," he said.

"In the same way, I'm very happy here in this moment. There's no chance to move."

Pochettino is currently in Australia with his Spurs squad for the 2016 International Champions Cup which takes place against Juventus on Tuesday and Atletico Madrid on Friday. Both matches will be played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
