Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has played down Dele Alli winding up fans this week.

Alli had celebrated his winning goal against Barnsley on Tuesday by cupping his hand to his ear.

“I spoke to him yesterday and he told me the situation was that he was referencing one fan in the stand," he explained.

“Why would he have to explain anything? His gesture was nothing related to us, the club, the fans. It was only a joke with one fan in the stands. That is truth and I believe it."
