Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino says Harry Kane would have to make a transfer demand if they were to sell him to Real Madrid.

The striker has been linked with a move to the Liga giants after outscoring every player across Europe's top leagues in 2017, with 56 goals.

"Being responsible for a club like Tottenham, I would say if Real Madrid came, we would tell them we do not want to sell him," Pochettino told El Chiringuito de Jugones. "He would stay here and he would have to understand.

He added: "If you look at it from a personal side, if the player asked to go like Modric or Bale, we would have to see but today that has not happened.

"I hope that Harry Kane will be here for many years and bring lots of goals and victories and win some titles, that's what we want."
