Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino admits he sees Eric Dier as a long-term centre-half.
Pochettino has no issues over the decision of Dier to return to Tottenham's Enfield training complex from England Under-21 duty to spend time working on his defensive role.
"For Eric, it is a good situation to play in centre-back," Pochettino said.
"When we signed him, we knew he played in the national team under-21s, that he played like a full-back.
"Now I do not understand the problem, because he is happy to play at the right-back or centre-back.
"We are very happy with Eric."
