Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is delighted with the form of Eric Dier this season.

Pochettino has moved the defender into midfield this term.

“I'm very pleased for him, he deserves it," Pochettino told the club's website.

“His team-mates and everyone at the club congratulate him because from the beginning of the season he's showed a fantastic character and had some fantastic performances.

“It was tough from the beginning but it was important that he believed he could play in the position (in midfield).

“The mentality he has is to always help the team and he's a fantastic professional.

“He's one of the players who can be a great example to all."
