Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino says Eric Dier is comfortable in midfield.

Dier has made no secret that he sees his long-term future at centre-half.

But Pochettino says: "I made that decision from the start of pre-season as we needed to give the option to Eric to play.

"Eric played well in midfield and was comfortable in that position.

"He is very happy, he scored and shouted a lot.

"He is happy to play, like all players who are in the first team."
