Tottenham boss Pochettino content playing Man City on damaged pitch

Mauricio Pochettino has revealed Tottenham may have to play Manchester City on a damaged pitch in October.

Spurs have had matches against Liverpool and Cardiff moved due to safety concerns with their new stadium. And it now looks likely Spurs will also not be able to play the October 28 fixture against City. The match could then be moved to Wembley, however, an NFL game between Jacksonville Jaguars and Philadelphia Eagles is scheduled on the same day.

Pochettino has ruled out Spurs playing in three stadiums this season, and has admitted he would be fine with playing a day after the NFL match.

"At the moment, I cannot say we are not going to play this game at our new stadium," Pochettino said at a news conference.

"If you ask me if we can't play in the new stadium, we need to find a way to play at Wembley. To play in another place, three stadiums in one season, would be too much.

"Maybe we need to adapt, the day after the NFL game, maybe the pitch is not in the best condition, but we need to make the effort and to play because to find another date would be difficult.

"I am a person who is always positive. Rather than complain about a thing you cannot change, I try to find a solution to help the performance in the best way."
