Tottenham boss AVB says Adebayor deal can still happen

Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas retains hope of signing Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor.

The Guardian says Villas-Boas is keen on signing Emmanuel Adebayor from Manchester City on a permanent basis after his successful loan spell last season.

However, the striker's £170,000-a-week wages are the stumbling block.

"There is obvious interest from us but it doesn't mean that we go down that route," Villas-Boas said.
