Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas has placed Emmanuel Adebayor on a new fitness programme.

The Daily Mail says Adebayor has been put on a specially-devised fitness programme as Villas-Boas looks to bring his centre-forward up to scratch.

Because Adebayor was frozen out of first-team matters at Manchester City by manager Roberto Mancini, the former Arsenal man was unable to build up an advanced level of fitness during pre-season.
