Tottenham boss Andre Villas has hit out at Liverpool over the lack of an apology from Charlie Adam over his challenge on Gareth Bale.

Villas-Boas remains annoyed with Adam and Liverpool over the lack of an apology, but now hopes to move on.

"The question is at one point in a friendly do you let a ball go past you and then go into a professional's ankle like Charlie did," he said after beating New York Red Bulls.

"We responded in the way we felt was appropriate, as there was no apology and no response from Liverpool, although we don't expect one and are not pressing them for one."
