Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas has cleared up comments he made in the wake of his side's 2-1 home win over Liverpool on Wednesday night.
The Portuguese tactician indicated that the Welshman, who scored and provided an assist in the victory, could one day be offloaded to a big club for a nice price but he quickly retracted that by telling the club's official website that situation will not occur.
"Like all of our key players, Gareth is on a long-term contract as we continue to build for the future and his progression will be of benefit to our team," he said.
"He is an important part of our future and we have no intention of letting any of our top players go."
