Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas admits he doesn't have any type of relationship with Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

Sir Alex is renowned for nurturing young bosses, but Villas-Boas, 34, revealed he has not been taken under the Scot's wing, and he did not hear from him when he was sacked by Chelsea in March.

"No he hasn't called me up," he added. "I wasn't that privileged.

"We spoke last season when I went to Old Trafford with Chelsea and at the 3-3 draw at Stamford Bridge and at the managers' meeting. Nothing else."
