Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has told the Prime Minister Gordon Brown he would like to see Barclays Premier League players coach children in schools. Redknapp said: "I told him I'd like to see footballers in schools, coaching kids. That's what we did as players at West Ham with Ron Greenwood - we loved it and the kids loved it.
"When I was a kid, I went to the worst school in east London - Les Allen came in to coach and it was like winning the pools for me and the other kids."
Redknapp feels it would become an important part of a footballer's responsibilities around the community, adding: "They would do it and I'd do it myself."
