Tottenham to appeal red card for Rose

Tottenham will appeal the red card handed to Danny Rose on Wednesday night.

The left-back was sent off for a 50th-minute tackle on Edin Dzeko in Spurs' 5-1 loss to Manchester City at White Hart Lane which resulted in a penalty to the visitors.

The decision appeared harsh as the former Sunderland loanee made plenty of contact with the ball before Dzeko went to ground.

Referee Andre Marriner had initially called for a corner before his assistant interjected, leading to the sending off, and subsequent three-match ban of Rose.
