Tottenham have announced they've had a bid for Jermain Defoe accepted by Portsmouth.

Defoe is due at White Hart Lane today for a medical, and he should be a Spurs player by the end of the day.

"We are delighted to announce that we have reached agreement with Portsmouth for the transfer of Jermain Defoe," read a statement on Spurs' official website.

"Personal terms have been agreed and the striker will today undergo a medical."
