Tottenham have confirmed that they have no intention of giving up on long term target Stewart Downing. Chief executive Keith Lamb indicated to the Tottenham Journal that Spurs would be happy to open negotiations sooner rather than later.
"It wouldn't be the easiest negotiations from their point of view, but I would certainly take their call," he said.
Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is an admirer of the England international, and had a £12 million offer rejected during the winter transfer window.
