Tottenham have spread their net wide across the Spanish transfer market today.
The Mirror says Spurs last night made a sensational bid to smash Britain's transfer record with a £38.5million move for Sergio Aguero.
The offer was part of a remarkable four-pronged attack by boss Harry Redknapp, who made approaches for another THREE Spanish-based strikers.
Redknapp is also keen on Athletic Bilbao marksman Fernando Llorente.
Further bids have been lodged for Villarreal striker Giuseppe Rossi and Sevilla forward Alvaro Negredo. The attempt to sign Rossi comes just a week after the former Manchester United striker agreed a contract extension to keep him at his club until 2016.
