Harry Kane is looking to break Alan Shearer's astonishing Premier League goalscoring record.
Shearer's 260 goals in the Premier League is a record which no other player has even come close to breaking but Tottenham young gun Kane has now ambitiously stated that he would love to eventually overtake the Newcastle United and Blackburn Rovers legend.
"I'll give it a go. That's a lot of goals but it just shows how good he was to score that many – 260 in the Prem is incredible," Kane told Match of the Day magazine.
"I'll take my time and try to get 18 per season, but 35 years of age seems a long way away.
"He's a top bloke and was an idol of mine. He scored so many goals. He told me to keep confident and when you get your chances just take them.
"I haven't scored much this season but there's no rush, I've got to be patient, it's a long old season ahead so that's important."
