Tottenham and the FA are in discussions about Harry Kane's involvement in European Under-21 Championships.
Kane is expected to be granted extra time off before the UEFA competition which takes place in the Czech Republic in June.
Kane himself is very eager to play in the tournament but head coach Mauricio Pochettino wants to ensure that the 21-year old forward does not suffer from burn-out after featuring heavily for his club during the current season.
England's first game in the U21 tournament is against Portugal on June 18, and most of the squad is likely to travel to the Czech Republic five days earlier.
According to Standard Sport, Kane may be given a couple of days break before joining his teammates.
The homegrown Spurs star has already featured 42 times for his club this season and he is also likely to be selected for the English national team this week for the Euro 2016 qualifier against Lithuania and a friendly against Italy later in the month.
