Tottenham ace Gareth Bale has rubbished claims of diving for Wales in victory over Scotland last night.

The Scots felt Bale clipped his own heels when he went down under Shaun Maloney's challenge to win a penalty.

The Spurs ace converted the spot-kick and bagged a wonder winner. Bale said: "He took my leg. I couldn't stay on my feet so it was a penalty and fortunately I got up and put it away.

"We went 1-0 down but we fought back like men and got a great result."

Bale thrashed a 25-yard winner to settle this World Cup qualifier in Cardiff and admitted: "Nobody closed me down.

"I saw the shot and gave it a go. Some go in and some don't."
