Tottenham star Gareth Bale is so close to manager Andre Villas-Boas he's named his child after him (sort of)!

Bale has always refused to confirm reports he named his daughter Alba Violet Bale when she was born in October.

But Defoe yesterday let slip the star's baby does share the same initials as Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas.

Defoe, who has just become a dad for the first time, told The Sun: "Gaz has little AVB and is buzzing.

"I give him stick about her initials. He is the first to give someone banter. So when you have a chance to give it back, you take it."
