Tottenham winger Gareth Bale has handed Wales an injury scare.

Bale has yet to train with Chris Coleman's squad after reporting for international duty with a heel problem.

Wales were hammered 6-1 by Serbia a month ago so boss Coleman needs his star in top shape.

Coach John Hartson said: "Gareth came down to the training ground and worked with the physio.

"We feel he will be OK for Friday. It's a case of getting him ready.

"He has a slight problem with his heel. It's something he has been carrying for a while. It's a case of nursing him through.

"He's a special and important player for us. We're in a great position having a player like him."
