Tottenham ace Bale again named Wales Player of Year

Tottenham midfielder Gareth Bale has been named Wales Footballer of the Year.

The 22-year-old endured an injury-hit beginning to the calendar year, following a stunning start to the 2010/11 campaign, but was rewarded for his form by winning the PFA player of the year award.

Bale, who has 30 caps to his name but has only featured for his country three times in the calendar year to date, was a star performer for Wales in last month's Euro 2012 qualifiers against Montenegro and England, playing a key part in the 2-1 victory over the former with his trademark pace and trickery.

Bale, who made his international debut against Trinidad and Tobago in 2006, was presented with his award at a ceremony at the National Museum of Wales in Cardiff on Tuesday night.

The Young Player of the Year Award, won by current Wales captain Aaron Ramsey in 2009 and 2010, went to 21-year-old Swansea midfielder Joe Allen.
