Holding onto Hugo Lloris would be as good as a new signing for Tottenham.
That is the sentiment of former Spurs midfielder Micky Hazard who believes keeping the France international away from Manchester United would be a massive win for the North London club.
Tottenham's number one keeper Lloris has been linked with United as they prepare to part with Real Madrid target David De Gea but many, including Hazard, are desperate for the former Lyon gloveman to remain at White Hart Lane.
"Certainly, with the opinions that he has voiced, it seems the case that he wants to stay and he loves it at Spurs," Hazard told talkSPORT's Weekend Sports Breakfast show.
"There is no reason why we can't keep him and I've got to say, for me, he's an absolutely fantastic goalkeeper.
"I think he's one of the key players in the Spurs team and if we can hang on to him it's almost like signing a new top draw player because he's that good. He acts as a sweeper as well as top notch goalkeeper.
"It's an absolute must that we hang onto him."
