Tottenham 4-2 Blackburn: Bale nets double as Spurs fire

Tottenham have been led to a 4-2 win over Blackburn Rovers by star winger Gareth Bale.

The Welshman scored a double as Spurs moved up to sixth as Blackburn remained 13th.

Bale kicked of proceedings when he headed home in the 16th minute and it should have been 2-0 save for Roman Pavlyuchenko's 32nd minute penalty miss.

But the Russian atoned for his error by heading home a Bale cross three minutes before the break.

Tottenham went three ahead when Peter Crouch tapped home in the 69th minute before Bale grabbed a second 15 minutes from time when he was able to slot home a pass from Alan Hutton.

The visitors hit back five minutes later through skipper Ryan Nelsen before Gael Givet made it 4-2 with a powerful 18-yard drive but it wasn't enough for the Lancashire club.
