Wales boss John Toshack is seeking talks with West Ham United over crocked trio Craig Bellamy, Danny Gabbidon and James Collins.
Toshack said: "I'd like to know as soon as possible about these players. We've got friendlies against Iceland and Holland and then a final match with Georgia before the first World Cup qualifier.
"I'd rather know that they are not going to be available to us if that's the case and then, if they are, it's a bonus.
"I plan to go to West Ham shortly to speak to them at the club and the players themselves.
"Bellamy could be back training before the end of the season but Gabbidon is not training with the group at all. Collins will just have to take his time and - hopefully - will make the September game.
"I spoke with Alan Curbishley some time ago when things were looking better. I know our doctor has been in touch with the doctor at West Ham. I just need to know for my own peace of mind.
"But we've got to start looking at alternatives. We are very concerned about the Gabbidon and Collins situations. For two or three years we have been working on a defensive formation and they have done well. It is worrying and disappointing that these two players have problems.
"There is no real sign of Gabbidon coming back at all but Collins is going to be pushing it to be ready for September."
