Torres reveals Abramovich talk persuaded him to stay with Chelsea

Chelsea striker Fernando Torres has revealed talks with owner Roman Abramovich have helped him to remain with the club.

The Spaniard recently hinted that he could be on the way out at Stamford Bridge after playing a restricted role for the Blues as they swept to the FA Cup/Champions League double last season but has cooled those notions by insisting he will stay in West London.

"I had a conversation with the owner of Chelsea and he trusts me,” said Torres.

"His confidence is total and that is what I needed to keep fighting and continue to be essential for the team."
