Torres outstripping Gerrard in Liverpool shirt sales

Fernando Torres is fast threatening Steven Gerrard's popularity amongst Liverpool fans.

The Mail on Sunday says the impact made by Torres has meant that more than a third of the 15,000 Liverpool shirts sold in December have been No9s carrying his name, narrowly beating Gerrard into second.

Ironically, Manchester City's bestseller is a signed shirt by manager Sven Goran Eriksson, as part of a Christmas gift pack which includes a DVD, The Sven Revolution, and an internet package.
