Torres double downs Chelsea
Fernando Torres found his goalscoring touch at just the right time as two first half strikes were enough for a 2-0 Liverpool victory over Champions Chelsea at Anfield.
League leaders Chelsea were stunned as early as the 11th minute when Torres controlled the ball instantly and placed the ball past Petr Cech.
The Spanish striker then doubled his tally on the stroke of half-time curling in a delightful effort from 18 yards.
Dirk Kuyt could have made it three but Chelsea rallied after the break and Pepe Reina earned his money by saving from Florent Malouda and diverting a Nicolas Anelka effort on to the bar.
But with the backing of a noisy Anfield faithful the Reds held out for a famous victory with which to get their season back on track.

Liverpool deserved to win. Simple as that. I'm not going to ramble on about how Chelsea were rubbish, how our midfield was feather light, and how our passing game was non-existant. Torres, Gerrard, and Kuyt bossed the game and you've got to give them credit for that. Kuty saying that if they can beat Chelsea they can beat any team in the world is a bit of a stretch though...Chelsea aren't that good. It really is true when people say Chelsea can't beat teams who put up a fight and show hunger.
Dennis d fool an not a chelsheet fan
glad we won but we did man u a favour who got a last minute lucky goal again, ***** lucky *****, they always steal the league. we'll tan them 4 by goals again when we meet.
