Torres confident new look Chelsea attack will come good

New Chelsea signing Fernando Torres feels it is early days to be writing off the Blues new look attack. The £50million striker's much-hyped first appearance in a Chelsea shirt failed to live up to expectations at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, when Torres was eventually replaced after 65 minutes as the Reds went on to win 1-0 through a Raul Meireles goal.

Torres, Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka are the supposed dream team which will score goals for the Blues and the 26-year-old cannot see any reason why such attacking talent cannot succeed.

"When you have good players you have to try and keep the balance, keep working on the system," Torres told Chelsea TV.

"There are a lot of good players here and a lot of possibilities and chances to play.

"We have to know that there are still a lot of games to come and we have to be ready to play in different positions.

"It doesn't matter because the main thing is the team."

While Torres admits Liverpool caught Chelsea out with their tactics, the Spain striker maintains Carlo Ancelotti's men will not dwell on the result.

"It was very difficult, Liverpool played a good game, with three at the back, we were not expecting that and maybe they took advantage of that," Torres added.

"We didn't have enough chances to score, but we had two or three controversial chances at the end when maybe we could have had a penalty.

"I think the fair result was the draw, it was unfair to lose that game, but now we are looking forward to the next game and will keep fighting until the end.

"There are a lot of points still to play (for)."
