Toronto FC have announced an international friendly with English club Tottenham Hotspur.
The Canadian outfit will host the Premier League side at BMO Field on Wednesday, July 23 in what will be former Spurs star Jermain Defoe's first match against his old club.
Defoe, who joined Toronto in February, said: "Playing a friendly match against Tottenham is going to be special.
"I spent the majority of my career there, and have great admiration for the club. I have a lot of friends still playing for Tottenham and I'm really looking forward to seeing them and playing against them this summer in Toronto."
The fixture is part of the Defoe transfer agreement between the two clubs, and TFC's owners Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE).
