Toronto's White delighted at getting off the mark in MLS

Toronto FC forward O'Brian White was delighted to have scored his first MLS goal in his first start for the club.

The 23-year old Jamaican scored with a brilliant right-footed shot in the 65th minute to help his side record a 2-0 victory over DC United and was happy to get off the mark for the Reds.

"It was great to get that first goal,'' White said.

"To know that the goal gave us that 2-0 lead was big because we definitely needed the three points."

It was a proud moment for White, who has recovered from torn knee ligaments, as many family and friends were on-hand to see him perform so well and his teammates were delighted for him.

"I know my teammates were happy for me because they've seen me go through all the therapy,'' White added.
