Toronto FC star man Julian de Guzman holds high hopes for Canadian soccer after seeing some lesser-likes compete in the World Cup.
The 29-year old Canada international believes his national team can push for a second World Cup berth in the coming years after seeing nations who are at a similar level competing on the world stage.
"Seeing teams like Slovenia, Algeria and North Korea there - teams you could almost categorize as being on the same level we are - I think shows we aren't that far away," he told the Toronto Sun.
Canada have only made one other World Cup - in 1986 in Mexico - where they lost all three group stage matches to the Soviet Union, France and Hungary.
