Toronto FC's youth academy coach Jim Brennan says the club is attempting to form a Manchester United-like setup in East Canada.
TFC are looking to build a solid foundation of young players so they can become a driving force in North American soccer for many years to come.
"It's hard work and it takes time to get there, but all the resources that we have are going into the club to make it bigger and better. We want to be at the forefront of Canadian football.""We want to be the Manchester United of MLS," Brennan told sportsnet.ca.
Brennan's comments come in the wake of Ashtone Morgan becoming the first Toronto youth academy product to be capped by the Canadian national team with the Reds hoping to become a production line of future Canada internationals.
