Toronto FC still yet to complete signing of Urruti

The long-running transfer saga involving Toronto FC and Maximiliano Urruti continues.

The 22-year old is in Toronto training with the MLS club but a deal for the Newell's Old Boys striker has still not been agreed upon.

Urruti was first touted to sign with TFC in April but the Canadian outfit and his parent club in Argentina have not been able to come to terms.

It is, however, expected that Toronto will soon snap up Urruti with head coach Ryan Nelsen looking forward to the day when it actually occurs.

"I thought the deal was done six months ago," Nelsen quipped this week. "It's a bit complicated.

"We obviously haven't seen the best of him yet (during training). He's a very direct striker and he has a lot of room to grow.

"I don't expect him to set the world on fire; he's just got to find his own feet.

"At 22, he's energetic, enthusiastic and a good young player that could be at a club for several years. A lot of clubs were interested and are still interested in Maxi so, hopefully, something can get done ASAP."
