Toronto FC spirits dampened as Koevermans suffers knee setback

Toronto FC head coach Ryan Nelsen has confirmed that Danny Koevermans will not return to the line-up this weekend.

The Dutch striker, who has been sidelined for 10 months with a knee injury, was set for his comeback against Philadelphia Union this weekend but has been hampered by a slight problem with his other knee.

"He twinged his other knee, so he's in doubt," Nelsen said. "It's a really minor thing."

The former AZ Alkmaar and PSV Eindhoven striker has not played for TFC since July last year and the Canadian club are looking to see him back in action as soon as possible after scoring 17 goals in 26 appearances prior to the injury.
