Toronto FC have announced that they have signed Jackson Goncalves from FC Dallas.
The 25-year old Brazilian attacker has been traded to TFC in exchange for allocation money and a conditional second-round pick in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft.
Jackson arrived on loan at Dallas from Sao Paulo in 2010 and spent two seasons with the Texans before signing permanently ahead of the 2012 campaign.
Dallas' technical director Fernando Clavijo suggested the club was not keen to trade Jackson but the player himself forced the move.
"It's not that we came out and said we didn't want him anymore or Jackson saying he didn't want to be here, but it was maybe just the best time for us to move away from each other and see other opportunities," Clavijo told FCDallas.com.
"As much as we valued him, everyone around the league valued him and we were able to get something substantial in the trade for him."
He made MLS 91 appearances, scored 11 goals and had 13 assists during his time in Frisco.
