Toronto FC youngster Nicholas Lindsay is set to miss the entire 2011 MLS season.
The 18-year old winger has suffered a serious knee injury and will undergo surgery on Wednesday before having secondary surgery about four months down the track.
It is a major blow for the Canada youth international, who made his first MLS appearances in 2010, but Toronto's director of team and player operations Earl Cochrane made it clear that the club would be right behind the promising talent.
"Nicholas made huge strides in the short time he has been with the team and has a bright future ahead of him," Cochrane said in a release.
"We will support him with everything he needs to make a full recovery."
