Toronto FC prospect Lapira handed Aberdeen trials

The 21-year-old from Louisiana - who had a summer trial with Rangers cut short by injury - was recommended by former Dons goalkeeper Bobby Clark.

Lapira gained his first Irish cap in a friendly with Ecuador last year.

He was coached by Pittodrie legend Clark at US college side Notre Dame and was selected by Toronto FC in the Major League Soccer superdraft last week.

Meanwhile, Dutch defender Dave Bus - who plays for Eredivisie side De Graafschap - looks set to sign on loan till the end of the season.

Bus - a former team-mate of Aberdeen midfielder Jefferey de Visscher - will join up at Pittodrie if he passes a medical with both clubs having already agreed terms.
