Rumours were suggesting that the 32-year old Canada international was on his way to Glasgow to train with the Hoops ahead of a potential January loan transfer but Toronto have denied those links with released statement.
“We were unaware of Dwayne's plan to train with Celtic and we will contact them to understand the situation,” the statement read.
“Obviously, if there is interest in a short-term loan arrangement by either him or Celtic, they will need to approach us and the League formally and we will consider [it] based on what is in TFC's best interest.”
But DeRosario’s brother, Mark, told the Toronto Star that Dwayne would certainly not just go to Scotland without telling his club.
“They were very much aware. My brother would not just jump on a plane on Boxing Day and go over on a whim,” Mark said.
