MLS club Toronto FC are hoping they can keep hold of English full-back Richard Eckerlsey after an impressive season on loan.
The 22-year old former Manchester United youngster made 23 appearances for Toronto, on loan from Championship club Burnley, and the Canadian outfit's director of player development, Paul Mariner, is keen to have him for the future.
"We are trying our best to re-sign him," Mariner said.
"I have known Richard for a long time and he is tailor made for the league.
"I was out with dinner with him last night and we had a good chat. It is progressing really well. I don't want to say it is 100 per cent yet but it is progressing very well for us."
