Toronto FC executives expecting play-offs this season

Tom Anselmi, executive vice-president and chief operating officer of Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, the company which owns Toronto FC, expects the club to qualify for the play-offs this season.

After entering MLS in 2007, the Reds have failed to get through to the finals but Anselmi believes 2010 is the year.

"We've had four years and I think we've had lots of patience by our fans," Anselmi said.

"Now, it's show-up time. We've got to take the next step this year."

This season, Toronto's home ground, BMO Field, has been chosen to host this season's MLS Cup final, and Anselmi sees that as a perfect situation although he does not want to get too carried away.

"It'll be the ultimate home-field advantage," Anselmi added. "Let's not get ahead of ourselves, though. Let's make the playoffs and see what happens."
