Toronto FC again close to signing Argentine striker Urruti

Reports are again suggesting that Toronto Fc are set to sign Maximiliano Urruti from Newell's Old Boys.

The Canadian club were reportedly close to clinching the signature of the 22-year old Argentine striker on a couple of occasions earlier this year and now fresh reports indicate that a deal may be completed this week.

South American media outlets are proposing that Urruti has made his way to Toronto whilst local press suggests he is currently staying at a hotel downtown.

TFC went one further by releasing a statement that he is training with the side but could not divulge whether or not he will definitely be signing.

"We have been involved in a lengthy process for Maximiliano Urruti to join Toronto FC and Major League Soccer, and we hope that it will conclude by the end of the week," the statement read.

"In the meantime, Maxi is in Toronto and he will train with the team. The club will provide no further comment at this time."
